Terms of service
Effective date: October 13, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Silva Peak Labs LLC ("we", "us"), which runs Intendant at yourintendant.app. By creating an account or using Intendant, you agree to them. If you use Intendant for a business, you agree on behalf of that business.
1. What Intendant is
Intendant is a bookkeeping ledger. It keeps your accounts, transactions, journal entries, reconciliations and reports, and lets an AI agent you connect do bookkeeping work through a secure connection.
Intendant is a tool, not an accountant. We do not give tax, legal or accounting advice, and nothing in the app is a professional opinion. You are responsible for your books, your tax filings and the decisions you make with them.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 and give us accurate information.
- Every account uses two-step sign-in. Keep your sign-in methods and backup codes safe.
- You are responsible for everything done under your account, including by people you invite and by agents using tokens you create.
- Tell us right away at support@silvapeaklabs.com if you think someone has gotten into your account.
3. Agents and AI
- You choose whether to connect an AI agent. An agent acts with the permissions of the token you give it, and what it does in your books counts as done by you. You can revoke a token at any time.
- Agents run on their own provider's service (for example Anthropic or xAI) under that provider's terms. We do not control them.
- On plans that include built-in AI, we send transaction descriptions and amounts to our AI model provider, Anthropic, to suggest categories and insights.
- AI suggestions can be wrong. Review them before you rely on them. Intendant never lets an agent close a month or connect a bank.
4. Plans and payment
- Intendant is a paid subscription, billed monthly or yearly in advance. There is no free trial. Plan prices and limits are shown on the pricing page and at checkout.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. Stripe sells the subscription to you as the seller of record and collects any sales tax, so Stripe's terms of sale also apply to your purchase. We never see or store your full card number.
- Until your first payment goes through, you can set up your books but cannot post entries. If a payment fails, we will tell you in the app and your account may become past due; if it stays unpaid, posting is paused until you pay.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. The new price applies from your next renewal.
5. Canceling and refunds
- You can cancel at any time from Billing settings. You keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
- We do not refund partial periods, except where the law requires.
- After cancellation, bank connections are removed 30 days later. Your books stay readable and exportable for 90 days, after which we delete them, except records we must keep by law.
6. Your data
- Your books are yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to run Intendant for you.
- You can export your data at any time while your account is open and during the period in section 5.
- Our Privacy Policy at yourintendant.app/privacy explains what we collect and who we share it with. We do not sell your data.
7. Bank connections
We connect banks through Plaid. Plaid shows its own screens and handles your bank credentials under its own privacy policy; we never receive your bank username or password. Bank feeds can be delayed, incomplete or interrupted by your bank or Plaid. Check important figures against your bank statements.
8. People you invite
On plans with accountant seats, you can invite an accountant. They sign in with their own account and two-step sign-in, and they can post, import and reconcile but cannot close a month, change billing, connect a bank or invite others. You are responsible for whom you invite. Removing someone ends their access right away.
9. Acceptable use
Do not use Intendant to break the law, to keep books for money laundering or fraud, to get into books or systems that are not yours, to overload or probe the service, or to resell it without our written permission.
10. Availability and changes
We work to keep Intendant running and your data safe, but the service may be interrupted for maintenance or by events outside our control. We may change or improve features. If we remove something your plan depends on, we will give you notice.
11. No warranty
Intendant is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including that the service will be error free or that reports will be accurate for your purposes.
12. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, including lost profits, tax penalties or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
13. Ending the agreement
You can stop using Intendant and cancel at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or leaves a payment unpaid, with notice where we reasonably can. Sections 5, 6, 11, 12 and 14 survive the end of this agreement.
14. Law and disputes
Massachusetts law governs these terms. Any dispute goes to the state or federal courts in Bristol County, Massachusetts.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will give at least 30 days' notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use Intendant after the change means you accept it.
